Classics FC appoint new head coach
31 May 2011

Chris Abela has been appointed as the new Classics FC head coach with immediate effect. Mr Abela, who has been involved in various roles with the Club since its inception, will have the tough task of leading the team towards fulfilling the ambition of getting promoted to the Second Division.

The appointment was approved unanimously by the Classics FC committee in a meeting which was recently held to evaluate the past season’s performance and set the way forward for the new season.

Whilst auguring Mr Abela every success at the helm of the Club’s coaching staff, Classics FC would like to thank former coach Steve Mallia and his assistant David Camilleri for their dedication and contribution to the Club. Under their guidance, the team was close to gaining promotion in each of the past two seasons and also managed to set the Club record of seven consecutive wins in official games in the 2010-2011 season.
